SINCE 2008 PRODUCERS OF ETNEAN WINES with a unique character
The winery was established in 2008 thanks to the rigorous attention paid by the Bevilacqua family to the revival of the environment, the restoration of the ancient vineyards, the palmenti (wine grottos), and the stone terracing, testimony to the history of the area. Today it covers an area of around 40 hectares producing 11 types of wine.
We dedicate time and passion to the vineyard following its natural cycle
The original terraces, restored thanks to a naturalistic architectural intervention, are cultivated by hand: skilled local workers dedicate their time and commitment to the vineyard, following its natural cycle.
At the end of winter, the sheep graze the grass between the vines, the teams hoe the earth made softer by the passage of the flocks.
Every step, from pruning to tying the vines, is carried out with great manual skill. Today, as in times past, the natural cycle is rediscovered in the characteristic Etnean landscape.
Recovery of the ancient and characteristic agricultural environment
The Terrazze dell’Etna estate was established in 2008 when Nino Bevilacqua, a Palermo engineer in love with his land, began the passionate work of restoring the ancient and characteristic local agricultural environment: through the purchase of small plots of land abandoned and overgrown with brambles.
The estate is located within the Etna Natural Park and climbs the north-west slopes of the volcano. Terrazze dell’Etna was founded with the aim of enhancing the terroir of Europe’s highest active volcano and its native grape variety, Nerello Mascalese. Today we export to several countries abroad, proud to be able to tell the story of these unique wines
For us, making wine means family
A journey to discover: from the vine to the bottle
From the protection of the natural environment, the revival of the centuries-old traditions of the land, and the use of modern technologies comes our wine, whose strong personality tells of a sunny Sicily, rich in tradition and passion. Cultivating, observing, slowing down, the moments in the vineyard are marked by an extraordinarily lively wait. A tale of grapes and passion, of harmony and ruggedness!
