We guard the land and respect its rhythms
We always need every good wine that comes from a great land. As well as good farmers who decide to take care of it every day, experiencing friendship and new agricultural experiences.
We are in a wonderful land, an island within an island: a territory with unique climatic and environmental characteristics. This means translating its peculiarities into wines with an authentic and inimitable character that derive from a winemaking and production method unique to Etna.
Its vineyards are among the highest in continental Europe. Our terraces are situated on different levels, on grounds starting from 350 metres above sea level up to 950 metres above sea level. They grow on the slopes of an active volcano, exposed to extreme climatic conditions, which means greater exposure to the sun, 6 to 10 times more rainfall than in the rest of Sicily, and temperature ranges of over 30 degrees.
But the key lies in its soils, originating from the slow degradation of lava rock into ash and volcanic sand, which give the wines a distinct minerality. All work is done exclusively by hand, entrusted to the wisdom of our Etna winegrowers.
We always need every good wine that comes from a great land. As well as good farmers who decide to take care of it every day, experiencing friendship and new agricultural experiences.
The original terraces, restored thanks to an intervention of naturalistic architecture, are cultivated by hand: skilled local workers dedicate their time and dedication to the vineyard, following its natural cycle. At the end of winter, the sheep graze the grass between the vines and the teams hoe the earth made softer by the passage of the flocks.
Processing is then completed in our modern and innovative wine cellar, the key to the production and ageing process. Our work follows certain key aspects that allow us to produce our beloved wines as they are:
